FAQ
FAQ
When is the best time to photograph my baby?
Newborn sessions ideally are done within first 7-14 days of baby’s life. It allows me to create those perfectly curled up sleepy poses.
Next best stage to photograph your baby is tummy time session – around 5-6 months; or sitter sessions 7 months-1 year.
How long will the session last?
Newborn session will last anything between 2 and 4 hours. It all depends on the baby, because they need to be fed, changed, comforted etc. It also lasts slightly longer if you want to include sibling/family shots.
Family sessions and older babies sessions usually last about an hour/hour and a half.
Do I need to bring in props, like hats or baskets?
Only if there is something special you would like me to use, like first teddy, or special hand made knitted blanket. Other than that, I have a great selection of props to choose from.
How far in advance should I book a newborn session?
I recommend to book a newborn session some time after 20week scan. Don’t leave it too long to secure your place. I am taking limited amount of sessions every week and last minute there is usually no availability. I usually pre-book for around 7-10 days after due date and then reschedule if baby decides to arrive earlier or later.
What if baby arrives earlier or is overdue?
No need to worry. Although I pre-book your newborn session for around 10 days after due date, I always plan my weekly schedule having in mind there might be a few babies that arrive earlier or later. You let me know, and we reschedule!
Do I get all images on USB?
No. You only get the amount of images included in your chosen package. In saying that, my “Digital” package has all images from the proofs on USB (50+). So if you go for that package, you get them all! And very often there is more than 50 images in the proofs.
Is it possible to include unedited photos to USB?
No. I take huge pride in editing your images. It is a big part of my workflow, it is a tool to create my unique style and ensure consistently good quality of work.
What should we dress?
You can bring a few outfits for kids to change and a few bits that you think might go well in the photos, like teddies, favourite toys, hats, hair bands. For family photos please try colour coordinate. It doesn’t have to be all perfectly matching colours, but something that doesn’t clash and goes well together. Neutral shades and muted lighter tones photograph beautifully for a timeless look. And it is probably the safest option. Although a bit of colour might look as good. Try Google or Pinterest “what to wear for family sessions”, loads of great examples there. Also my advise is to avoid loud prints on clothes (writing, colourful big prints like cartoon characters or things like that…), because it looks distracting in photos.
